Crime Stoppers of Nevada is a not-for-profit, tax exempt organization. It relies exclusively on voluntary contributions from local businesses and individuals for it's economic viability. It receives no governmental subsidies or funding with the exception that the local Metropolitan Police Department provides office space and two individuals to handle the day to day operations of the program. Crime Stoppers is managed by a voluntary Board of Trustees representing various segments of our community.

Over 90% of contributions received go to paying rewards. These rewards are payable upon the arrest and arraignment or indictment of an individual. The amount of reward we pay depends on a number of factors related to the nature of the crime. Administrative expenses are kept to a bare minimum. The program is working very well and we are pleased to be making a positive impact on our community in terms of apprehending felony criminals.

Over the years we have utilized various kinds of fund raising efforts, ranging from gala affairs to golf tournaments. This year we are taking a more direct approach in order to minimize fund raising expenses and to maximize the net return on our efforts. We are simply making personal contact with businesses and individuals we know and requesting a donation to the program. So far it's working.
